What are some good places in the richmond area to take pictures?
Posted: Tue August 16, 2011 11:00 PM UTC
I am a photographer, and I would like to take a friend who is a photographer too, to take some photos at different places that have a lot of nice things to take pictures of. I'm interested in a lot of different photography categories, ANIMALS, architecture, trains, NATURE, cars, and things similar to those mentioned. A place that is free to get in to take pictures would be nice, but I'm fine with paying a fee. What are some good places to get some really good pictures of in the richmond area? Thank you all!

I've been to the richmond zoo, and I've been to lewis ginter botanical gardens, and I'm looking for a lot of different places to take photos at, like parks, gardens, anything.

I'm open to all suggestions. Thank you so much!

Monroe Park.
The James River, and the James River Parks System.
Maymont, located adjacent to Byrd Park -Victorian estate with a museum, formal gardens, native wildlife exhibits, nature center, carriage collection, and children's farm.
Joseph Bryan Park Azalea Garden,
Forest Hill Park (former site of the Forest Hill Amusement Park),
Chimborazo Park (site of the National Battlefield Headqarters).

Outside the city there is the Presqule National Wildlife Refuge, Richmond National Battlefield Park and Pocahontas State Park and Forest

I think these places you can get more photos that covers all nature, parks, gardens, arts categories.

Hollywood Cemetary is a popular place.
Jefferson Park on the East Side, and also Robert E lee bridge on the West side.
Church Hill

Richmond has 90 best parks where you can take more photos as you told you like nature photos.

parks like bushy, crane, home, Isabella Plantation, Terrace Gardens, Pen Ponds and Spankers Hill etc.,.

many other attractive places like BC Place Stadium, Science World, Grouse Mountain, Vancouver Art Gallery and many more.

Thank you for your replies. Are there anymore places to get pictures at? Especially interested in a place with lots of different flowers, and a place with tons of different animals, and a place with a room with a lot of different insects would be great if possible. Or is there a place with a lot of different insects even if it's not in a room? Thank you for your help!

You can visit Ginter botanical Gardens to take flower pictures. A healing Garden is made up of plenty of plants that are used for medicine and medieval healing, a sunken garden designed as ancient Rome and the Rose Garden framed around a reflecting pool set aside by the many colors of roses available. You can capture many pictures of flowers that reflects pleasant nature.
