I feel the best place is Cascais and the Sintra area. There are many cheap hotel outside of the town that you can stay in for less than 25 Euros a night.

There is so much history in the area and it makes for a good jumping off point by train for the rest of the country.

its quite sad that most of the people just comment about portugal just because they just seen the places wich travel agencies like to show most
the north of portugal is just suberb. cascais sintra algarve and maby others are just like in all other countires, this is, places withn some history or with atractive things but specialy designed to get money from tourist.
from santarem till north, northeast or nortwest thats where you can find beauty in portugal. cascais sintra etc etc, you will find in postcards wich helps you to save money
by bye

Any part of Portugal is good.... The whole country is beautiful and I still think that the Portuguese people are the best any where in the world.

thank you for your kindness
cascais and sintra like other places very well cared are beautifull, indeed
what i meant is that the real portugal is not in those places. people must not ignore them but go to the county. visit the villages, see their histotic monuments, meet their tipical people, taste their special food, etc etc...
i hope i can publish some nice pictures about what i've just said. i have them in 35mm rolls and only a very few in digital as work with fiber paper photography until these days
until next time
have my regards

Hello,
Do you know if there is a train that runs from Sevilla, Spain to Lisboa? Or if it is easier to get a cheap flight? I really want to see beautiful Lisboa. Thank you.

There is a train but it takes a very long time and has many changes of train. You are better to take the bus, fly or rent a car and drive. The drive is about 5 hours and will take you through some of the most beautiful country you will see anywhere.

If you can... drive... you can see Galaroza, aracenia, Serpa, Beja, Evora and a few other places on the way to lisbon.

Enjoy
Keith

Hi

are you able to advise me about hiring a camper van or a car that you can sleep in. We are about to make a trip to surf in Portugal and will be flying into lisbon mid-October. We are looking for a cheap option.

many thanks for any help you can give

Sorry I do not know of a place to rent a sleeper car. There are many good hotels and in many places you can camp.
Sorry I can not be of more help.
