We stayed in the Explorama Jungle Lodge, and recommend it. Iquitos is hardly a resort, but it is an interesting place to visit.

On the main square (Plaza de Armas) there is very helpfull INFORMATION CENTRE, and they will give you all the information regarding travelling further.
As you will see there are many tourist agencies that offer tours. I changed three budget hotels while there, and must say they are all alike. So, it depends how much money you are willing to give. darcul

If you are on a budget go to the Hostal La Casona, Calle Fitzcarrald 147.
It is right off the Plaza de Armas, has just opened up about Mar 2005, and is a very congenial place. The staff are very friendly and helpful with tourist tips. Prices from S 20.00 to S 53.00 with television.
