Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Muhafazat Qina Which hotel?
Posted: Sun February 1, 2004 08:12 PM UTC
I am planning a holiday to Luxor in November. At the moment I am interested in both the Mercure Coralia Hotel and the Jolie Ville Movenpick. Does anyone have any comments about either of these hotels? eg regarding the Movenpick, is transport to and from the island frequent, what about during the evening, and where does the transport drop you off in relation to the sites on the mainland?
Thanks

Both are very nice hotels.
The Movenpick is of a slightly higher standard than the Coralia, but it has its downside. It is a long way outside of Luxor centre, and you need transport to get around. They do have a free shuttle boat to take you into town and back though. It does have excellent facilities, the pool is great and its Nile setting is superb.
The Coralia is very nice, nice pool and if you get a Nile View room, the views are unbeatable, looking straight across at the West Bank.
It all depends on what you want from your holiday, 4/5star a bit out of the centre, or 4star within walking distance of Luxor temple, the souks and direct access to the Corniche.
