Rock Hewn Churches of Lalibela

Is 5 days a good length of stay to see the Lalibela churches? I understand that international flights lands at Addis Ababa, so between these two places how many days should I spent in each city. Can someone recommend a website to book domestic flights between these two places? Are there other interesting historical/cultural sites around the area?

5 days is too long. You can see the main ones in a day. Maybe day to around the area, but then you will run out of things to see.

If you want domestic flights, ring (yes telephone) Ethiopian airlines in Adddis Ababa. Its on their website. They must speak fluent English to work there and they are very friendly. They can book it for you no problem. In 5 days using them you could see:
* Lalibela
* Gonder
* Axum
* Bahr Dar

These places are not big

Thanks for that information. Flights are a little pricey and I am travelling on a budget, can i take a bus from Addis Ababa to Lalibelia? And the other places you recommend can you travel by bus to these places? I had been googling photos of these places and they look pretty cool.

Sorry, hope it is not too late, but I did not read this forum recently.
If you are into hiking and do not want to change places too often so not to sit on a plane/bus all the time, I recommend a tour around Lalibela.

I have not done it myself but several people told me they liked it very much, their pics were great (I regret that I did not make it now).
