where are the best places for music? i dont think i want to go to the tropicana.i am only 3 nighs in havana

Go to Case De La Musica in Central. They have late afternoon and really late night shows. It is a dancing venue with live salsa music. It is really good. I think it costs like $5 US and the drinks are reasonable. I can't remember what street it is on. I lost my lonely planet book, but the locals will all know.

In Havana there is music everywhere.
There is more than one "La casa de la Musica" The one refered to above is on Galiano also know as Avenida de Italia. Be forewarned you may be asked to check your bags at the door so travel lite.

There are 2 Casa de la Musica's
1 in Miramar and 1 in Centro...I like centro most It depends on the artist how much the entrance fee is, when I was there in April I had to pay $25 because Los Van Van performed that night...
