Re: Crochet bag... for bag ladies Posted: Thu December 16, 2010 06:45 AM UTC
Hello again!
Had to leave for awhile but am back. Thank you all for taking your time for these answers. All constructive.
Love (its name) has lining. Prolly the reason you couldn't see it, it's because the lining is in écru cotton as well. I wanted it discreet, not to compete with the design, rather complement it :-) And yes, it is the lining that contains the content, backing its weight. So, the crochet work wouldn't loose. Took me some anxious nights to focus on such things. Seems like a detail but... One reason I wrote that, for once, the pre-crocheting steps were very demanding. Time-wise, focus-wise... Btw, all my designs have lining.
Long strap... I have other more practical models in canvas with longer shoulder sraps. :-) Those models are Long, Solar (both in canvas), Miss Pencil (crochet & ajustable strap length thanks to a cabanister), Bissac (in canvas - for men). Rock model is a flat, small bag, has an adustable srap that can cross he body.
They are here: http://greenmorphoaccessories.wordpress.com/by-sy-bags/
Now, the fear of getting it too dirty too fast... it is possible to crochet other colours. The écru cotton can be handwashed.
Indeed, celebs can afford zillion bags.. and shoes. Now, something I noticed in Madagascar. It is rather the tourists and other expats who like crochet bags a lot (raffia, mostly). Locals are more tepid. Is it still a budget matter ?
Summer bag... indeed, it looks like if fall and winter use to be wet.
Emma... seems you're another future owner of a Love bag, aren't you ?
Now, Misc. forum... don't have net access home so have to go to a cyber for that. Plus, the bag design project is soooooooooooo passionating that I tend to leave all other things aside. No walk anymore, no gym anymore. No Vt anymore. Worse, no travelling this year (2011 maybe), all the money goes into... bags!!! lol
