A European family has abandoned a bathroom after finding an image of the devil in a shower tile.

The Croatian Times reports Laszlo Csrefko, 52, spent a fortune renovating the family home in Budapest, Hungary, with a new bathroom.

After using the shower for the first time his wife Andrea spotted an image in one of the tiles, screamed and ran from the room.

"I was naked coming out of the shower and I could suddenly see his [the devil's] eyes staring into me," she said.

Laszlo said The image cannot be cleaned off and it was not there when the tiles were put up.

"It just appeared overnight and nothing can move it," he said.

"The room is always ice cold no matter how high we turn the heating up and we've just stopped using it because it's too spooky."

The family is calling in an exorcist and now washes in the sink downstairs.

I could handle the frog, the goanna, even the panties :p, but not the earwig or the big hairy spider. Yuck!

The earwigs get squished and flushed; stray spiders get rescued and tossed over the balcony. I'm glad we only get small spiders - so far!

This looks like a classic example of Croatians making up "Hungarian" jokes. I have always liked friendly rivalries between the peoples of neighboring countries.

this fascinating piece of information was published by many websites worldwide, such as Paganismaustralia (with a picture showing Mr. Csefko and a close-up of the Devil) and even the Slovenian edition of Cosmopolitan has an article about it!
So it might be a true story, I'm afraid.
(not afraid of that Devil but of the scope of human stupidity)

I have found spiders in mine before. I would have the holy water on that one though!

Thanks for clarifying this Krista. I originally thought that this was strictly a Croatian Times story, and that the story of these religious fanatics had to be a Croatia/Hungary rivalry joke. I will inspect my next batch of potato chips for an image of the devil (if I only knew what old Satan actually looked like). Damn!

I have to admit, it really does look like the devil!

I am a bit surprised regarding all of the people that actually know what the devil looks like. Not a good sign.......d:o)

This particular image looks like one of the alien bad guys on the original Star Trek, - but the devil????? But then, I have never met him, - or her.
