I am a french student and I am going to go in Leeds for 6 month.
I would like to find the cheeper accomodation than it's possible.

Are you sure you want to visit Leeds when France is so much nicer? We love France and being 10 minutes form the ferry we can be there in an hour and a half.
Try the Youth hostels or tourist Information sites for the area.

:-))) I guess he will STUDY there and they do have a good university and nightlife! Besides, there is always nearby York if one needs history and culture and the grey city centre is made up for by the Yorkshire Dales national park just around the corner.

Don't knock leeds! Although there is a lot of hidious 60s and 70s buildings, it has many fine old buildings such as the courts and the city hall. The shopping areas in the centre has had a total revamp too and is looking very nice. It only feels grey because the weather is usually bad!

I think if you are looking for 6 months, a hotel or youth hostel will be too much? Can you not arrange accomodation through the university!?

Leeds is an up and coming City with agood City Centre with excellant pubs,bars and restaurants its expanding fast, loads of new buildings and property developments around the City.
You dont say in what part of Leeds you wish to stay and whether you wish to rent yourself, share with others, or live in hostels.
As with most Cities the cheaper it is the less attractive the area.

Hello "louisemarie". First of all, let me say that unlike "nhcram", I live in Leeds. I can tell you that Leeds is a fast up and coming 24hour city.
The shopping is excelent. The night life really lively. You will find it a fun place.
As for the accommodation. I think "russ60" has given you most of the sites you will require.
