Is It Going To Be warm?
Posted: Sun December 21, 2003 11:38 PM UTC
Hiya all, im coming to hurghada for 2 weeks in january with my children ans was wondering what the weather will be like? Will it be warm and if so any ideas of average temperature? Will i need suntan lotion and also do you have mosquitos there? strange question i know, but would be eternally grateful for any advice as to what to do here as well, as we are not planning on diving

suntan lotion yes.
it will probaply be 20-25 degrees celcius and no clouds.
mosquitos is not such a big problem in hurghada.
even if you are not diving it's worth going out on some of the boats that do snorkelling trips.
they stop at some little deserted islands where you can get off and walk around.

Since Hurghada is in the desert, there are no mosquitos. Sun lotion is not a bad idea, but make sure that you bring something warmer for the evening. The water will be warm. I have been told that the water temperature is never below 20*C. I am sure that you will have a great time in Hurghada :)) I went there this summer when it was over 40*C and I had great time :))

At this period there are no Mosquitoes in Hurghada
whether is 20 to 24 in the morning however it can reach down to 7 degrees celsius, so better get warm clothes.

Hi.

Just to emphasize a bit more: mosquitoes are not there not because it's a desert, but as Mongy said, because it's winter. In summer, we usually use mozzy repellants either on our bodies or in the hotel room. Only a few of them, yes, but mozzies usually start acting on your body the moment they know you're helpless--the moment you dive into sleep!! All anti-mozzy stuff are available in local shops and pharmacies at fairly low prices.

Money:
No need at all for traveler's checks. Your credit card will be just enough. If you also have an ATM card it will be handy for small cash amounts. You can also withdraw small amounts of cash with your credit card if you don't have an ATM.

Have a nice trip to Egypt.
