Wellingborough Travel Forum

I asked the above question to see if some one could help me but I don't see anyone else out there in the Wellingborough forum. Am the the only one here and I am from Florida USA? Barry

Sorry, but I don't understand your question. Wellingborough is in the United Kingdom. What do you mean by being "the only one here'?

Wellingborough is a small town with nothing very significant to warrant a visit, it is not on the tourist circuit. If I remember your original question was to look up some old friends, you would probably do better in the UK forum.

My work used to take me to Wellingborough 15 years ago and apart from a nice school building there is not much to see.

Geoff, I had written a note looking for an old girl friend that I had in Wellingborough back in 1963 to 1965. I knew that I was looking for a needle in a hay stack. I also assume, most that are on the internet are younger people. I had posted but had not seen or heard from anyone. If you know of anyone that could help me, I would surely appreciate it. Chris, thanks for your response. I was just in Wellingborough in Sept and tried to find the lay of the land, but 38 years is a long time to try and reconstruct directions. I actually looked back at your previous Forum postings. Regretfully, I live in Cornwall, and have no connections in or around Wellingborough. I'm not really sure what you can do to trace your long-lost friend. You could try looking for links to the local council, on the internet (Google or Yahoo, etc). You never know, an EMail to the right person may achieve a result. Other than that, I can't really help, but I wish you luck.

Thanks Chris for your interest in helping me. All I can recall is that her name was Carol. She lived on the outskirts of Wellingborough closest to Huntingdon. She had a sister that moved to Chickopee Falls, Massachusetts, USA with an american prior to me meeting Carol. I was stationed at RAF Alconbury from 1963-65 and met her in a pub in Wellingborough. As I recall, Carol worked in a Television Factory in Wellingborough. We used to go to a pub that when you went out the back door, there was a car park and a huge church, All Saints, I think. I have a photo of her but it is in Minnesota and I will try and get it to scan. Again, thanks for your help. Sincerely Barry

Try posting your search question to: http://answers.google.com/answers/ they may not be able to directly find Carol, but they will be able to help you define your search and suggest alternate sources of information.
