Utrecht Puff Pastry -where to purchase
Posted: Sun December 14, 2003 04:38 PM UTC
When I arrive in Maarsen for Christmas, I would like to be able to make several desserts that call for puff pastry. In the US, I am able to purchase frozen puff pastry made by Pepperidge Farm. In the past, I have been able to find phyllo dough in the markets, but not puff pastry, often used for making brie en croute and other lovely desserts. Any suggestions of stores that may carry it?
Thank you!

In the frozen food department of supermarkets. I think "koopmans" is the brand you are looking for. It comes in 15cm square packages. In dutch it is "bladerdeeg". There is whole fat (echte boter) and a low fat version. Thought the low fat had a blue ribbon on the package.

Just about every supermarket carries this product. It is very common.
Names of supermarkets: Albert Heijn, Edah, Super de Boer, Konmar, Bas van der Heijden, Dirk van den Broek...
There's more but these I can think of right now.
