Mauritius Honeymoon Ideas
Posted: Tue December 9, 2003 01:51 PM UTC
Hi

I am considering Mauritius for my honeymoon destination on 01 August 2004

Can i ask which coast is the best place to stay..is it the EAST or WEST?

We want to relax as well as take on board the excusions that are on offer ..for Example

The Botanical Gardens
The Volcano
Crocodile Park
UnderSea Walking

Are these excursions run from anywhere on the island? can i book them when i get to Mauritius?

Many thanks for any advice

From experience, West coast would seem to have the better weather but there isn't much in it.
The island is relatively small so you can see anything from anywhere (no trip is really that long).
Have a great trip.

Hi,
From my experience I would go for the West Coast, the main reason I say this is the time we spent every evening watching the sun set from the beach while we ate Oysters with Tabasco sauce with clasical music playing in the background.
What better way to set the mood!!!!

Hi

I would choose west because east is windy during the august period adn is the winter period and is a bit cold
North is the besr region.
You can book you excursions at the hotel you stay.

hello
i prefer the north pereybere is the place to be its close to grand bay bud cheaper and its the most sunny ,you can book your excursions there and mutch cheaper then the 50 pounds there talking about that are the hotel ripp off prices . pereybere hase good cheap restaurants and some pubs , if you stay in a hotel on the rest of the island you are stuck to the hotel and its ok if you have a lot of money. i always rent a bungalow have been on 9 diferent places in 8 years minimum 3weeks its the airticket that makes the price.best place till now www.trochetia.com.
if you want fun book the babeceu trip to lile d'ambre.
have i nice time

You should go for the west coast like I did in Sep 2003 as it is less windy and the waves are not so strong. As for excursions, you can book them when you are in Mauritius (no problems).

If you are interested to find out what to do in Mauritius, you can visit my VT mauritius page and the sub-pages on various places such as Port Louis, Charamel, Curepipe, Mahebourg etc etc.

You choose a very good time to go as Aug-Sep has very nice and cool weather in Mauritius.
