Apartment rental in Florence
Posted: Fri December 5, 2003 08:47 PM UTC
I will be in Florence for 3 weeks in January '04. I'm looking for help finding a 1 bedroom apartment around the Duomo. I'm on a very limited budget, but will pay extra for a safe & clean place. Can anyone help me? I'm brand new to this site.

Thanks in advance, 1LJ

Not sure what your budget is, but try this place I rented last fall. The owner is great, and may be willing to give a better price for an extended stay.

You'll find it at : http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/index.cfm/property/3144.cfm

If that's way out of your range, try contacting one of the schools in Florence (primarily art schools) and see what they have.

Let me know if you have other questions :)

If you hang around the train station with a backpack you have a good chance a student on a scooter comes up to you and offers you a good deal on student rooms. They are well located near the centre.

Although I'm not sure this is the way it works in winter times...I've only summer experience.

Good luck!

If you book a proper apartment through an agency you will spend at least USD 600 to 1000 for a 1 bedroom, which here is a bilocale (2 rooms). You would do better to look for a studio. THere is a way to get around the agencies, try writing to a couple of language schools or american universities in Florence and see if they have anything. It is a pretty dead period for them and they could fix you up at a much lesser cost. This is also true during the months of May and August - only for the US universities mind you as they rent apartments throughout the year.
