Does anyone know if it is allowed to camp on the Tonga islands, and if so, are there campgrounds, and if so, how much are they (approx.)? Im hopefully going there this winter if the prizes are reasonable. Thanks! //Malin

Hello Malin,
No, there are no campgrounds in Tonga. There are three types of island in the Kingdom of Tonga: inhabited, uninhabited and resort islands. You can reach a resort island only if you book an accommodation with the resort. On an uninhabited island, there is no water. On an inhabited island, the land is private property and you need the owner approval to camp there. Only it occurs the same trouble: no water, no anything. If you want to go to Tonga you need book with some guest house; be careful since the cheap ones are not very tidy. Pay a visit to my Tonga page, might be useful. Don’t hesitate to ask more question if you need so. Lucia.
