Visiting South Dakota for the first time.

We will be visiting Deadwood and surrounding area for about four days in September. Can anyone suggest hotels in this area and things to do? In Deadwood, we would like to stay at a casino. Thanks

There are a few hotels in Deadwood that are haunted. :) You might try the walking tour at night. Also be sure to stop in and watch the re-enactment of the murder of Wild Bill Hickock. Aces and 8's is not what you want on this trip. :) The cemetery is interesting - but not so much that I would pay to see it. There is also a wax museum that is good in Deadwood. Not far from there is Lead - they have a great tour of an old mine. Have fun!

There are plenty of things to see and do in the Black Hills Region of South Dakota, including Mount Rushmore, Wind Cave national Park, Jewel Cave national Park, Deadwood, Custer State Park, and the Sitting Bull Monument (still under construction). Badlands National Park is a couple of hours east.
