Hi, I and my 2 sisters will be traveling to Stravropol in January or February and we would like to take the train. Are there any fast trains? I thought I found an 8 hour train but now I'm only finding 33 hour. Was I dreaming?

33 hours seems a fast train; stavropol abnd piatigorsk are extremely far from moscow and russian trains are slow
it would take 1h30 by plane

As far as i know there is no anything you call "fast train" from Moscow and South Russia. I am originally from there and haven't found one. I am sorry as much as you. :-)

40 people were killed today by a suicide bomber in a train (local "electrichka") near Pyatigorsk.
This is a third big terrorist action (and the biggest one) in this town during last 10 years. Let innocents be remembered forever...
