Las Americas airport which is SDQ, is about 15 minutes from Boca. It is actually closer to Boca than it is to downtown Santo Domingo.

Boca is a lot of fun during the day. Weekends can be crowded but lately the weekdays have been very quiet!
It is a great place for kids as there is sort of a natural lagoon and the water is always extremely calm, clear and never gets deep. Lots of kids on the weekends!

I have posted a short clip of what a day at boca chica beach is like. If you have cable or dsl

SANTO DOMINGO, Las Americas Airport. I stayed at the Boca Chica Beach Resort. Great place. Two of the best restaurants in the area are: BOCA MARINA and NEPTUNOS. Not far from each other. For the kids there's a Burger King in town next to the main highway that takes you back to the airport. Cell phones could be activated to be use in the country at ORANGE shops. Or you could purchase a pre-paid one for about $40.00 that uses minute cards.
