I think its best you see the place for yourself as someone else may have a different view and outlook on an area.I could never decide on buying a house in a place ive never seen. You really need to take a few hols there before deciding which area u like the most etc.I had taken 4 holidays to an area before i decided on buying a house there as it takes that long to get to know an area and decide if its really what u want or not.

Sozopol is lovely, indeed, what with the old houses etc. But don't expect to find a quiet place to retire to in summer. Sozopol is the favourite vacation spot of thousands of Bulgarian and foreign holiday-makers, and in summer it's sometimes hard to find a free table for dinner at a restaurant. Also, in September they have the Apolonia art-festival which makes the place even more popular.
That being said, go and see for yourself, and then get familiar with the administrative formalities for buying property in Bulgaria - just a small hint for you.
Good luck.
Svetlana

Dear friend,
It is so nice you want to visit our country. I am sure you will like it. You can learn a lot from the following web sites: for winter sports /skiing andsnowboarding/ www.beachbulgaria.com - be sure to check the discussion board, www.beachbulgaria.com for the summer holiday and there is a new one www.rural bulgaria.com for rural and eco-tourism.
In case you want to buy a property, check www.bulgarianproperties.com, it would be very useful in case you want to buy a house.
Wish you luck and many wonderful days in Bulgaria!
Teddy
