Since you previously had asked about US handicapped placards being valid in Germany, you might wish to check on accessibility options at Neuschwanstein. To get to the castle, your options are (1) by bus, but you have a steep, narrow passage to the castle from the bus stop. (2) by foot, up a rather long inclined pathway, (3) by carriage, along the same path. I seem to remember quite a few stairs on the tour as well. Gary
