| Sint Maarten | the ocean club Posted: Tue November 25, 2003 10:12 PM UTC
Hello, I am travelling to Sint Maarten in February and am considering staying at The Ocean Club. In one of their time share units. Has anyone ever stayed there or seen it and can tell me what it's like. It's on Cupecoy beach. I hear the water there is a little rough and not good for swimming? Advice anyone?
Thank you. Sarah |

Cupecoy looked too rough to me when I was on St. Maarten, but I am a confirmed sissy, and I don't care much for rough surf. But it is a beautiful part of the coast, and your view should be great. Don't miss exploring the caves.
I was staying with a friend in his time share at the Atrium, and was rather turned off by the garbage on the beach over there (though it's better just around the corner to the south, at the Pelican). But I spent all my swimming time over on the pristine beaches on the French side, St. Martin. Orient Beach wasn't even crowded for my October visit, though it may be during Feb, since that's prime season. Hey, don't miss eating out at Grand Case, the restaurants are incredible! And there are some cheaper local spots where you can get fresh lobster, sliced in half lengthwise and grilled, it's totally delicious. Oh, and plan on visiting the Saturday Market in Marigot too.
