Kodaikanal Going on 11 July for 2 nights 3 days. need good hotel info.
Posted: Mon July 6, 2009 07:29 AM UTC
Hi,

I am going to Kodaikanal this weekend from Bangalore by Train to Kodai Road.
Would be greatful if someone can help me with the following.
1. where should i get down (Kodai Road or DINDIGUL JN)to catch Bus/Taxi to Kodaikanal town. I can go for Taxi if its below 1000 Rs If really Bus servcie is not good.
2. Which hotel is better to stay for good view. I heard the "Villa retreat" is nice with some good valley view but can get the availabilty :(. Carlton is bit on some higher side. Any views for Valley View Inn/Sterling resort/Kodai Resort or any other good hotel/resort within 3000 Rs range (per night).
Please suggest since i have very less time.
3. Is it good enough 2 night 3 days stay in Kodai. Also would like to know places to visit there.

Thanks in Advance,
Ravindra

Hai,
This is off season for kodai.
Regarding your train, kodai road is the nearest rail station for kodai, but check the time when u get down here, because you are there at a odd time, taxi will charge very high.
The better option will be book hotel, or cottages in Kodai and ask them for pick up from the station.
As for resorts i had been to sterling and there rooms and views are very good,
Kodai international is a very good hotel in the middle of town, infact u can book a room here itself(bangalore).(jeevan tours in gandhinagar opp building to kamat yathrinivas)
2 night and 3 days are more than enough for kodai.
Places to visit: for this ur hotel desk will take u thro a conducted tour of kodai, book thro them its safe.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. But you landed me in confusion in choosing hotel.
which one should i go for Kodai International/Kodai Resort or Sterling (lake view or Valley view). Any suggestion from past experience holders? Hotel are charging 1100 Rs for pick up from Kodai Road. is it worth?

I do not know about kodai international as i had not stayed there, but sterling is good, if you can get booking than definetly go for it.
As for kodai inter the booking agent in blore is jeevan tours the mobile no of the manager is 9845512141.
you could just call him, take details of the hotel and also pick up rates.
and book your choice
