What is the quickest way to travel from Cluj - Romania to L'viv - Ukraine. Trains seem to take hours because they go via Budapest. Does anyone know of some easier and quicker way to get there, possibly via Baia Mare or Satu Mare? Are there any buses or maxi taxis? Thanks

the thing is, if you're not Romanian/Ukrainian citizen, you can only cross the border in Siret (minibuses from Suceava going in every 15 minutes). So the route would be:
Cluj - Suceava - Cernauti (Chernivcy, UA) - L'viv. BUT, you can also go through Hungary, for I doubt it would be quicker to go through Siret anyway. If you choose to go through HU, you don't have to go to Budapest, you go: 1.Cluj Napoca 7:56 - Püspökladany 11:23, Püspökladany 20:39 - L'viv 8:57 2.Cluj Napoca 8:05 - Oradea 12:33 Oradea 15:38 - Püspökladany 16:31 Püspökladany 20:39 - L'viv 8:57 Anyway, it takes some time ;) good luck - ag

Are you sure, that as a non Romanian or Ukrainian you have only one road border crossing in the North of Romania to Ukraine?
