Mexico Blue Cenote

I'm only in Cancun for 2 days in July. ONe day to see the beach and dolphins, the other to do Chitchen Itza. Quite like to see the Blue Cenote too. Is it possible to get there form Chitzen. You seem to get a long time at Chitzhen so I'd like to nip to the Cenote and back.

Happy July 4th! Funny I was just reading my sister's Chichen-Itza page where she has just "one tip" on the Blue Cenote --- http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/120985/e9f71/4/
But I was with her (her VT name is jumpingwithnorman) during that trip, and our "bus tour" to Chichen Itza stopped by the cenote. The guide said we can swim there and I saw them selling shorts and swimwear in the park too...
There were steps that lead down to it ...and then it is like an underground lagoon but it looked dark, deep and scary for me...But my sister is braver and she took off her clothes (got swimsuit underneath, hehehe) and dove into the water for a quick swim...BRAVE - specially when I thinkt they used to do human sacrifices there. I was out of the water and I still felt scared ---lol. But she swam for about 15 minutes in the cold water and dried herself a bit and then back on the bus we were...so, yes, it is possible to see Cenote before Chichen - and I think it is a great stopover before you see the great Mayan ruin....Norman :)

Maybe. If your tour to Chitchen Itza does not include a stop at the ceynotes, then no, it's a really long day and you won't be back until the evening. I would recommend finding a tour that includes the ceynotes as the one mentioned above did. I went SCUBA diving in the ceynotes and loved it.
