India Reputable Indian Tour Operators

Hello,

Looking for the best way to see the following in December timeframe.

- family (4-6 member) would like to visit the 'golden triangle' (agra, jaipur, delhi)... is it better to hire a driver and have him take us around?

- single traveller - would like to go for a 2-3 week tour of central/southern India (starting from Delhi and travelling south)... Is it better to book have a family friend in India book a tour to get better prices? What are some reputable companies??

Hi - it's easy to hire a car and driver for your golden triangle portion of the trip. You can wait until you arrive in Delhi to do that. It's easy to travel and book on your own for the central/southern part of your trip. Check www.irctc.co.in/ to book train reservations. If you are planning to fly - Spice Jet, GoAir, and Indigo are some of the good budget airlines. Check www.makemytrip.com or www.cleartrip.com for other booking information including hotels. Have a great trip!

Thanks for the advice Donna. I do agree that the Golden Triangle portion of the trip will be more feasible with a driver and I think we have family there that can arrange that for us.

However, for the central/southern part of the trip, I really would prefer to be part of a tour because I will be a single traveller and I would like some company as well as feel more safe. There are so many different tour companies online, all with very carying prices, so I am hoping people on here have some experience with certain companies....

Hiring a car for Golden Triangle is good idea- however- one car will not be enough for a family of more than 4. There are trains doing the triangle- mostly overnight journeys, and cost is minimal.

Of course you will be able to find a vehicle large enough for 4-6! Indian families frequently travel together in Toyota Innovas, Mahindra Scorpios, Tata Safaris, Chevy Taveras, etc., etc.

Yes Donna- I am not an idiot!! I was merely trying to point out that ONE standerd car would not be enough- hence the COST of a bigger vehicle will be more. I thought that was obvious.
