Hello fellow VTers,

We will be in Panama for almost 3 weeks this month. We are actually flying there next week. Looking for suggestions on the top three areas to stay in Panama. Definitely one of them (the last week) should be on the carribean side with a great beach for swimming. Planning on spending just a couple of days to tour the city.

Any suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.

San Blas Islands are on the caribbean side and they are one of the top attractions of panama. Good Beaches can be found on the pacific side as well. Be very very careful of visiting Colon, as it has a very long history of being dangerous to the tourists.. msy be able to stay in licensed places in Cuna country, but I dont think it wouldbe possible to stay with cuna people without permission.. in the islands..

When traveling to the Carribean, stay on Bastimentos at Red Frog beach. You can easily travel to the partying scene on the main island of Bocas town but get away and enjoy the serenity of Red Frog Beach... The new development is renting out their villas inexpensively and treating you like royalty since construction is still going on. www.vrbo.com/246205
