Question Posted By: Replies:
What to ask?
Posted: Fri July 3, 2009 09:11 PM UTC
I have no idea what to ask, but I might be visiting Belfast some time in August. All I know is that I'll be setting sail from Bergen, and if the wind permits, I might make it all the way to Belfast. I won't ask about the beer since I know I'll enjoy anything the tap will give me. I also know I will enjoy any type of Irish whisky....oppps sorry, whiskEy as it's bound to be good. And I don't need to ask about the people as I already have met a few of them here and there. The nature and countryside will also guaranteed be welcoming to the eye. So what is there left to ask???

First thoughts:

What are the must-sees?

What will the weather be like?

How do I get from my mooring to the city centre?

How do I get to the Giant's Causeway? Is there a tour?

I can answer the last two........

I was only in Belfast once and it was a huge surprise.

Don't know what I expected but it's a very interesting city to walk round and the people and their accents you will find very intriguing.

It's much more like a Northern English city than an Irish city.

I'm sure there are VT pages so why not check a few out ?

Did not go to Belfast, too big. Derry was great, armagh was also...balleycastle was one of my favorite places I have ever been, so the question is....where else do I want to go?

Agree about Ballycastle, the Antrim coast & Giant's Causeway.

Agree about Belfast.

Agree about the whiskey.

Why am I so agreeable this morning?

Not much to add, but I am looking forward to seeing a video of intersting parts of the trip! Coast of Norway as you're sailing, to arrival in Ireland, to stuff in between. I have enjoyed some of your videos, particularly living in Florida I appreciated the drive in the snow.

Enjoy your journey!

See and Do 1: Ian Paisley

See and Do 2: Jurry (Gerry )Adams.

See and do 3: Falls Road

Then you can just be a tourist and see the regular sights.
