Granada Alsa bus station TO Alhambra
Posted: Fri July 3, 2009 09:58 AM UTC
I will be travelling from Cordoba to Granada by ALSA bus. Bus reaches granada at 19:30. Planning to stay in Hotel Alixares near Alhambra. what is the distance ?? is there a City bus or should I take a Taxi from bus station to Hotel.

Also, Any feedback on hotel Alixares ?? I chose that because it is right across alhambra and had good reviews on booking.com.

Thanks for your replies in advance

not stayed there but very nice hotel renovated in 2004 four stars. Some of the streets are pedestrian in that section so a taxi might be a good idea. You can also take the Alhambra minibus that runs from the station and airport to the Alhambra, and stops very near the hotel.

hope it helps

The Alhambra is a dump - poorly signposted - poorly rennovated and nothing magical about it with pedantic Spanish who insist on ticket admission to the last second. It's not safe from 5pm onwards- unless you like thugs with dogs to match. Better places to visit!

This is the second time I have seen someone mention thugs and dogs at the Alhambra in the late afternoon...

I'm not usually an early riser, but looks like I am going to go for the morning visit.

should I say that the 'thugs' thing is bull*hit. Or he is referring to himself.
I guess the guy did not give due respect to Alhambra, if he visited it at all, i.e. he could not plan well.
Its three weeks that I visited Alhmabra and am still in the trans. This can not be and can never be made again with all the technology and resources we have now. I did Alhmabra in the afternoon session and nothing bothered me except for the strong breeze! There will be hundreds, if not thousands, of people overthere, all awestruck and stunned!
