I'm bad at updating pages for places I've gone back to. Like my Tbilisi page...all the tips are from my first trip there in 2001, and quite a lot had changed when I went back in 2005. I took loads of photos, intending to add them as tips and rewrite some of the old ones, but have never got round to it.

I just joined VT two months ago! I believe I really worked hard at least on my Turkey pages but for Turkey or even for my hometown Izmir, I still have so much to write and I keep forgetting or skipping things. I don't know how you guys manage to deal with this?!?

Re: It was my intention... Posted: Fri July 3, 2009 05:51 PM UTC
My brother told me of one that might come in handy. When he was at the LA airport and needed to go to the international portion, he said it was about a 1/4 mile trek outside. But last time he was there one of the locals directed him to a tunnel that cut the trip by a great deal and he didn't have to go outside.
The tunnel was almost empty - so not too many are using the tunnel. He decided to take a picture, because there were so few people down there. All of a sudden the big doors in the tunnel slammed shut. He turned to the guard and said - "See I am deleting the picture!" The guard just told him it was a test and could take all the pictures he wanted. LOL

Welcome to the wonderfully crazy world of VT Pinat! Well, I have been around VT for about 10 years and still haven't figured it out hahaha
I think you are on to something Claus. I wrote a lot of useful tips last year when I took my laptop along to Spain.
The tunnel storey reminds me of the underground in Athens in 1976. Long storey, but I had to run for my life. Political unrest, the junta etc. story some other time LOL
