i am traveling with 4 young women (yes, i am inded very lucky) and we are wondering how much it costs to store luggage at the geneva train station for a few hours while we tour the city. other suggestions (besides the train station) would be welcome as long as they are near the city centre. we are in geneva tomorrow so a quick reply would be most appreciated.

There are lots of coin operated lockers in the station, and there is a luggage depot. If you're leaving by plane (just a guess :-) you can even check in at the railway station and have them send you bags to the airport for you, so you even have more time to spend in the city. :-)

The coin operated lockers come in two size, small and large. The small ones cost 5 FR/24h, the large ones 8.

thanks for the quick reply, KVB! your recommendation was right on. we found the lockers near the center of the station and we were able to stuff 3 roll-aboards plus 3 small backpacks into one of the large lockers - all for 8 CHF. one caveat, though - use exact change (and this applies to the trams as well). no change is given in the machines.
