Well Fergy if VT is not one of the most self-promoting web pages you find then what is?
I did see your travelogue Claus and its very good and fun.
I do enjoy reading Chris’s pages but do you have an exact TL you like to drop into the pot Carrie?

Hmm...well, I guess I consider his entire trip one big travelogue as I wasn't able to tear myself away from it until I'd finished. I'm almost inclined not to mention a favorite just to be difficult...but here it is: http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/tt/a3aa1/#TL
Not the most dramatic moment on the trip or the most exotic locale but very entertaining to me.
Isn't it fascinating, Una?

Like you I found the whole of the trip like one travelogue. Was meant to be that way, I think.
He wrote it as a blog, but it really is one trip.
I couldn't for the life of me pick out one especially. Some are more dramatic, some are more beautiful, some are more aesthetic, or human interest oriented, or... but altogether they make one fascinating trip!

The best travelogue on VT where is it? Posted: Fri July 3, 2009 01:25 PM UTC
TheView - Allan with all due respect, I'm struggling to see how a travelogue with all photos of a girl dancing, and two short paragraphs, can be described as "the best travelogue on VT"?
Or is this a "bloke" thread??

There are so many!!!
However, the best and most useful I've ever seen is Guyon's Paris Travelogue, titled "Free Paris."

In a city known for it's high prices for everything, this is a fantastic gift to those of us on a budget.

Allan,
Yes your travelogue rocks. Yes it is Laddish (men find women attractive due to evolution and helps the species continue on). Yes it is self promotion as would be any tip on here. Let's think bikinis and movie rights here. Does she have an agent yet?
Sorry to dissapoint you on one thing.
I have the best Travelogues on Virtual Tourist.
Please read my next reply.

Thanks for the kind comments above guys.
A travelogue right off the beaten track I think is fantastic is Groverdean's trip along the Pamir Highway in Central Asia. Really invokes the spirit of raw adventure travel.

As much as I love Munga and the stories of her life and I sad that I will miss meeting her at Jo’s VT-meeting in two weeks, I must say that Dean’s travel story is great and seems to be the top runner so far.
And yes Pam it is a Laddish thing, I hope you understand my humour in posting it. But as DAO clams its part of long evolution …and I will argue that she seems to me to be at the peak evolution …or at lest the bar counter ;-)

Here's an album I put to gether when G launched the MAMAD series (Meet a Member A Day) in Misc. It gathers links to all introduced members (albums, tls, pics...) which other members had discovered, appreciated and were recommending. Probably you'll find one best travelogues there too or, at least, some good new tales to read. Enjoy!
