Germany Five days from Graz
Posted: Thu July 2, 2009 01:54 PM UTC
Hi, I will be in Graz at the end on July and for five days I want to go somewehere in Germany. Can you suggest some places for this period. I will be with my car so I can go anywhere (even some longer drives, up to 5-6 hours). Thanks!

Beware of the German emission zone which operates heavily in this area. If you've got a hire car, chances are that it will have a sticker- if its your own, then you need to purchase a sticker Euros 5 from a testing station. Stickers are available via the web at Euros 25 + bank charges. Tourists are heavily peanalised if you don't have a sticker with multiple fines for the same offence

Give some thought to Nuremburg, Regensburg and Bamberg. You can check them all out on VT pages. I am especially looking forward to my three nights in Bamberg in September which I stumbled across on the pages of VT. All of my subsequent research seems to indicate that this is a truly remarkable city and well worth a visit.

It might be too early for you but this spectactle takes place only once every 5 years and it is worth it, in case that you like old costumes etc.
