Thailand Stop over in bangkok
Posted: Thu July 2, 2009 10:41 AM UTC
I have a brief stopover in bangkok. Arrival 4:45 PM and next flight is 11.:35 PM. Is there a possibility to go out of the airport and do some brief visit? Do you recommend to do it? If yes, how far is the airport from the city proper and how long is the trip? What are the place or place I can visit. How long is the travel time going back to airport?

The airport is about an hour by taxi from the city, depending on traffic conditions. Since it would be evening when you arrive the only places that you may still find open are the malls and restos, just enough time for dinner and some shopping. Traffic will be lighter and faster when you head back but do remember that airlines normally require passengers to be at the departure lounge 30-40 mins. before boarding. Your plan is doable provided your baggage will be checked through to your connecting when you arrive and you already have your boarding passes.
