Malahide Travel Forum

My son and his girlfriend, both students,will arriving at Dublin airport in 2 weeks time.They will be staying in Malahide.Does anyone know which would be the best form of transport from the airport? Also places to visit from their base,probably by public transport,and is Dublin city close enough to visit?

There is a local bus from the airport to Malahide, no. 102, check www.dublinbus.ie for timetables. Exact change or prepaid ticket required for fares (buy at airport befor boarding).
A taxi is another option, should cost around €15 - €20, depending on time of day, luggage etc.
Dublin city is easily accessible by bus or DART (local train)

Well I can tell you the DART (local train) goes as far as Malahide. It is a regular service to Dublin city and further south...maybe as far as Graystones. So you have all those places in between readily available. Also there is a Malahide/Howth junction so they can go to Howth as well.

I am not sure from the airport. There are airport buses to Dublin and train to Malahide but I am sure if there are buses direct to Malahide someone will come in with that info .
