Hello all!

I am traveling to Austria this summer and I was wondering if someone knows anything about the discounts given by the Austrian railway system. I was trying to find out info about the sommerticket they offer. I tried to search it up on the internet but didn't find any info. Do I have to buy a vorteilscard in order to get a sommerticket?

Yes, you need the Vorteilscard in order to buy the Sommerticket. Have in mind that it is a youth ticket only (under 26). Also, if you are traveling for a shorter period, an Interrail youth ticket might be much more straightforward to buy and use. If traveling in a group, the Einfach-Raus ticket for 28 euro is a real bargain. Up to five people can use it in a day around the country on regional trains only.
