1. It is possible, but the ferries are not really designed for comfortable travel, plus they aren't cheaper than the plane so there is really no point unless you have large amounts of luggage you can't take on a plane.
From the north there are ferries from Kyrenia to Tasucu in Turkey, but Tasucu that is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, and again not much cheaper than a plane from Ercan to a city in Turkey.
2. As an EU citizen you can enter and leave the island any way you choose and you do not need a visa for either the south or the north.
3. Cyprus' prices are pretty much in line with most of Western Europe. Local style restaurants are cheaper for what they offer than comparable restauarnts in Europe, if you want foreign-style food it will be more expensive.
4. Most nightclubs in Cyprus are thinly veiled brothels and do not have a good reputation at all. Tourists regularly get cheated and/or assaulted there - in fact they are pretty much the only places on the island where there is ever any violent crime. Stay well clear if you can.
There are a number of good Irish bars, both in the cities and in tourists resorts such as Agia Napa.
