As a New Yorker....there is something called Happy Hour where one can get cheap beer and food for unbelievable prices. It is usually before the dinner rush hour. Something like 5-7. Is there such a thing in Munich? I would like to find a non touristy spot. Thank you!!!

welcome to Munich. Most cocktail/bar kind of places do have a happy hour, and I would expect it to be from evening opening time to 7 or 8.. so your guess with 5-7 is fairly good..

BTW Hsppy Hour is also called Happy Hour in Germish :-)

I had this question, too But after looling through the page "I've never been to Munich..." (www.talkmunich.com/forum/general-discussion/i9;ve-never-been-to-munich) I decided the places I would go and had a good rest. It was very useful for me. May be, it will help you, too. Good luck!

it seems like its happy hour all the time in Munich - I say this positively - when we arrive in the early morning, there are plently of travelers drinking beer and enjoying life - you never see that in the US

a favorite view of Munich for me is to see all the beer gardins full of people drinking beer in the afternoon - a walk down the main street in Munich, which is a pedestrian street, reveal the "happy hour" feel of the city

and then there is the Haufbrau House - always a happy hour
