Seychelles - costs for accommodation and food Posted: Sun June 28, 2009 12:03 AM UTC
Hi,
we would like to go to Seychelles in September with our 1,5 years old son. We would like to spend there 2 weeks (7 days Mahe, 3 days Praslin, 4 days La Digue). But we are afraid of big costs of this holiday (for about 2 weeks) and whether it is suitable for a little baby. I would like to know:
1) Is it real to find some good accommodation under 40 euro per person on that islands? I have read that there are some cheap accommodations, but i dont know, if they arent too far from beach, or if they are free yet (because its only 3 months before our trip and the number of cheap rooms can be limited).
2) Food - what is the average price in cheap restaurants there? What are the prices in supermarkets?
3) Transfer in Mahe - i have heard that buses are cheap there, but are they comfortable and safe for traveling with a baby? Can i easy visit main beaches in Mahe with buses? What are prices for taxi there?
4) Transfer in La Digue - i have heard that bicykles are best choice for traveling there, but what to do with a small baby there, have they some child-seat for bicykles?
5) Ferrys between islands - is it comfortable for a baby? I know that between Mahe and Praslin i can use a plane, but cannot use it to travel to La Digue - and I have heard that a boat between Praslin and La Digue isnt much comfortable... Whats your opinion?
6) Health care - is in La Digue some hospital, or just a doctor?
7) Whale sharks - can i go swim with them, or only dive?
Thanks for every advice
