San José Passport Stamp
Posted: Sat June 27, 2009 10:41 PM UTC
I came on the Tica Bus from Panama to Costa Rica. No official stamped my passport when I entered C.R. I am now trying to fly out of SJO, but the airport authorities say I am here illegally! What is it that I must do? I am desperate and need exact directions as to my next step as I am running out of money. Any help would be gratefully received. Thank you.

I believe the poster is a US citizen if that helps anyone answer her question. It would be useful if she would verify this.

A couple suggestions until someone more qualified answers you:
(1) If the airport authorities won't let you on your flight, ask them what you need to do. Surely they must have some idea.

(2) Is it possible to call a US embassy or consulate from where you are?

Good luck.

Contacting the appropriate embassy (that is, the one of which you are a citizen) is always the most sensible first step. They are used to dealing with such issues and will be able to give you correct advice.
