I am looking for midgets in Las Vegas. I have heard there is a hotel fully staffed by midgets. Is this true? What is the name of said hotel? It sounds like fun!!!!

I strongly suspect it would be against employment equality laws to staff hotels (or anywhere else) only with people who met that physical criterion (or any other).

I think they have midget impersonators at Hard Rock Hotel every now and then --- but they are just there to perform...I have yet to see that hotel fully staffed by midgets only...But that would be an interesting hotel but as leics said, might be discriminatory (labor-wise)....But what happens in Vegas, stays in vegas...have fun!

The term' midget' is offensive to many, by the way. Those of small stature prefer 'little people' or 'warf' (if the latter is medically accurate)..

I think if the people concerned find the term offensive (and they do) then that is good enough reason not to use it.

If you think if people find a term offensive it shouldn't be used then many many words will be removed from the english language. I knew prior to posting this it may offend "little people," I just didn't want to confuse people as "little people" could mean something completely different when read in the title. The world is becoming way to over-sensitive and politically correct. Unfortunately for you, freedom of speech lives on, and I am exercising my right to it. Sorry if it offends you, you have the right not to read it and not post here if it so offends you. Lighten up, this is VEGAS baby!!

BTW, definition of "dwarf":

1 a: a person of unusually small stature ; especially : one whose bodily proportions are abnormal b: an insignificant person <a literary dwarf>
2: an animal or plant much below normal size
3: a small legendary manlike being who is usually misshapen and ugly and skilled as a craftsman
4: a star (as the sun) of ordinary or low luminosity and relatively small mass and size

Those sound really appealing, right?

Definition of "midget":

1: something (as an animal) much smaller than usual
2(sometimes offensive) : a very small person ; specifically : a person of unusually small size who is physically well-proportioned
3: a front-engine, single-seat, open-wheel racing car smaller and of less engine displacement than standard cars of the type

If it was me, I would prefer "something much smaller than usual" to "an insignificant person" or "a small legendary manlike being who is usually misshapen and ugly and skilled as a craftsman."

Little people need to brush up on some definitions.

Thank you all who have replied trying to help. I saw an episode of COPS in which an officer arrests a small person and takes him to some hotel known to hire little people. I have searched and found the clip online but they cut the ending off when it shows/says the name. My search continues.

'known to hire little people' does not mean that a hotel is 'fully staffed by midgets'.

With reference to the term 'midget' I suggest you look at the link I posted for the reasoning behind why it is not an acceptable term.

If the people concerned find a particular term offensive then that (to me) is a reasonable enough reason not to use it. It is not for you or I (neither of whom are included in that particular group) to make judgements on whether they should or should not find a term offensive.

It has absolutely nothing whatever to do with political correctness but has everything to do with respect for others and common humanity.

"known to staff" "fully staffed" excuse my typo. The point still being you are not helping, just posting your opinion on the word midget. Please either help, or not. This post is to help find midgets in hotels in vegas, not a discussion on the term, thank you.

I am sure you will find many hotels in Vegas, and elsewhere, which employ little people.

I doubt you will find one which is fully-staffed by them, for the reasons I and others have given above.

I think you may be confusing the show below:

http://www.goldstar.com/events/las-vegas-nv/little-legends-little-people-big-show.html

with a hotel.

I am not thinking of that show, as I am already aware of it. There is a hotel in Las Vegas that tends to hire them, as I stated in my first post and my reply. I heard about when I saw an episode of COPS. This was not a show, it was a hotel. Thanks.

For some reason I don't understand, Eskimos find the word 'Eskimos' offensive, and we're supposed to refer to them as Inuit. (I think it means meat-eater, why is that offensive?)

But nobody knows what Inuit means; everybody knows what an eskimo is.

In the textbook for the course I teach, it said the opposite of thin is heavy. American textbook - that's pc America for you, when like Lady Bracknell they have to call a spade a digging implement. (And as for spade ...) Whatever we do, can't offend fat people by calling them fat.

And then there are Downs syndrome people.
