Vienna Traveling from Vienna to Burg Bernstein

I need to get from Vienna to Burg Bernstein Castle on the 5th of August 09. I do not have an Itnl. driving permit, and am having trouble getting any info about busses. Any suggestions?
thanks.
Frustrated,

You don't say where you are from, but if you are in the US, it only takes a few minutes to get an International Driver's License. Go to AAA and they will take your picture, type up a license, collect your money (less than $15) and give you the license . . . IF you already have a valid driver's license in your state. You must carry your valid state license with the IDL.

I'm not sure if you actually need the IDL but you do require a translation of your own license and the IDL is the easiest and cheapest way to do this. We always take ours. The IDL is valid for one year from time of issuance so keep it for your next trip.

Hopefully someone will log on here and give you bus and/or train information although you could check trains at http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en

Good luck.

Ahh yes. I should have said that, that is the problem. Already in France so going to AAA is really not an option. I would love to get an IDL but I don't know who to see about that over here. And yes I checked, Austria does require it. Thanks for the website though. I hope they speak English!!ha ha

The AAA-Texas website (where I live) says that IDPs can only be issued by the country of the driver's license, so if you are American with a US license, it looks like it will need to be issued by AAA in the US.

See http://www.aaa-texas.com/TRAVEL/AUTOTRAV/IDP.ASPX
(as I noted, this is AAA-Texas - you may want to go find the AAA website for your state)

Note that it says:
"If you are already overseas, mail the completed form and other required materials to AAA/IDP, 1000 AAA Dr., Heathrow, FL 32746 Attn: Mailstop #28. "

Review this page for the other requirements ($15USD, passport photos, etc.)...maybe this will work for you...
