Cadiz jerez de la frontera to cadiz

I will be flying into Jerez airport this Saturday. I need to get to the port of Cadiz. I have about a three (3) hour buffer. Is there a train or should I take a taxi? Cost?

There will be taxis outside that can take you to Cadiz for around €50.
or you can take a taxi into Jerez railway station / bus terminal for about €15 then take a train to Cadiz - cost about €4 and takes under one hour using the Andalucia Expres regional trains. There are local trains called Cercanias that also leave from Jerez station http://www.renfe.es/cercanias/cadiz/index_horarios.html that take about 50 minutes and costs €3.30

There are occasional buses that run from the airport into Jerez bus terminal which is next to the railway station. Or some buses continue to Cadiz. You would be really lucky to catch one of these buses so do look out for them. They leave from directly outside the Departures building.

A timetable for Saturdays should be found on http://www.cmtbc.es
Routes: M-050 and M-051

I should say that the airport is under 10 kms from the railway station and should cover this distance in about 15 minutes easily.

Frequent RENFE train services. Check Google - RENFE Media Distancia - Andalucía - Sevilla a Jerez de la Frontera y Cádiz. The service between Jerez itself and Cádiz is even more frequent.

Note - it is ALWAYS easiest to get to RENFE Media Distancia timetable via Google than via the user-unfriendly www.renfe.es website, the main one. Why I have no idea. The same applies if you are after RENFE Cercanías services (localo/suburban for main cities).

Unfortunately, all the timetables are of the journey planner/origin + destination type, not proper tables showing all trains and all stations. A curse, a hideous curse, on the state operator for that!!!!!

You don't say when you are arriving to Jerez but assuming that it is morning/early afternoon, you should have no problem getting to the Cadiz port by combination of a taxi to the train station in Jerez and then a Cercanias to Cadiz. The taxi from the airport to the train station is 15 euro.
