Croatia Travel Forum

Just wondering if I should be buying it before I go it can get it at a reasonable price there. The price is actually inflated in UK, much cheaper in US where I was brought up on it ;-)

So you are travelling to the UK? I'd try and buy it here in North america however will you rally be able to carry it with you?? What if it breaks in your luggage... or they take it away at the airport.?

It may come down to higher cost over pain in the ass...

Sorry for confusion - traveling to Croatia. Can buy Jack Daniel at the duty free but will still be expensive because it is not 'duty free'

Was what the prices of it is on Croatia, in case it's lot cheaper. Currently at 22 GBP (187 kuna) for 750ml

Croatia and former Yugoslav countries are cheap to very cheap by UK standards (with the possible exception of Serbia which I haven't visited) but imported spirits tend to be prohibitive. You may have to hunt down a bottle of JD in Croatia though so probably best to take a bottle

I don't really get it, you want to take it with you to Croatia to drink it or give it a present to someone?
If it is a present maybe someone will appreciate it. But for drinking, I do not see any reason, with the good Slivovice they have I do not understand why someone want to carry with him all the way from America or England cheap whiskey? Part of the experience of travelling to new places is to try to local customs and drinks.
