Can anyone please tell me how do I get from Paraty to Ouro Preto and if possible, how long does it take?
Cheers

Since Parati is south of Rio and Ouro Preto is north, you would have to get back to Rio to get efficient bus service.

This bus company goes from Rio to Ouro Preto:
UNIAO TRANSPORTE INTERESTADUAL DE LUXO

Schedules and prices are on the ANTT (main bus)site. Here is a page with a link and directions for use:

Another different route from Parati to Ouro Preto by bus is:

Parati--> Volta Redonda--> Conselheiro Lafaiete--> Ouro Preto

My route is much more kept in line than the suggested route by Bahiana77, but there are much more transfers using it. You will need that all timetables to be compatible as well. I will note down here how you may turn this idea in execution.

The key word in my response was 'efficient'. Since you're not a crow flying, I would be willing to bet it's considerably faster,and probably easier for someone who doesn't speak good Portuguese, to go through Rio than to mess around with a bunch of little local bus routes.
