Hi,

Is December a good time to visit Phuket ? Would it be very packed ? And how is the weather like in December?

The tourist season will be getting into full swing by December and Phuket will be busy. Some beaches will be busier than others on Phuket, we kind of like Kata Noi, because, like it's name it is smaller than the others and usually less crowded.
The weather will be good, rainy season is over short of an occasional rain shower. Weather should not be an issue. It's be nice.
Should you be there over the Christmas and New Year season expect to pay "compulsary rates" for those two days, prices can double or triple.

As bulldogtwo says it can be expensive over Christmas and New Year so if you can avoid those dates I would do so. The weather should be fine. As to how busy it will be is a bit more difficult to answer. The general world economic situation and the political protests in Thailand have meant tourists numbers have been dramatically down, hopefully things will improve by next high season (December to January).

December will be chockers..!!(packed)..Waiting in lines at favoured restaurants,Double or triple prices for everything(as previously said),Can't get into bars because it is so busy...and you have to purchase compulsory dinners at hotels as Johnalex said...days tours are booked up...!!
However,weather is good and flat seas,safe for swimming at beach...but I personally would'nt even think about going in December or the high season...Sorry...!!??...
