Jerusalem Best time to visit Israel
Posted: Thu June 25, 2009 08:06 PM UTC
My husband and I are looking at a tour to Israel in late November to early December. How is the weather in Israel at that time of the year? Does it rain a lot or can it snow? Does it get really cold? Would it be better if we put off the trip till the spring when it will be warmer?

Thanks

See my answer to your question in the Israeli forum. Last year in November I was in Jerusalem and it was warm and sunny, you can see blue sky photos on my Jerusalem page. But the night can be cold in Jerusalem most of the year, September to May.

Due to extreme climatic changes the World is experiencing at the moment, trying to predict the weather can be difficult because of local, on the day variations.
Most places now are seeing weather conditions well outside the norm.
The information below should be used as a guide only.

Here is the average weather for Jerusalem for this time of year.
Enjoy your holiday.

November.
High 74f / 24c
Low 55f / 13c
Rain 3.20in / 82.0mm
Rain days 8
Hours of sun 8

Humidity = None

December.
High 66f / 19c
Low 49f / 10c
Rain 5.60in / 141.0mm
Rain days 12

I live in Jerusalem. November/December is a 'chancy' kind of season. As often as not it is cool, but not yet cold, except at night. You will need a warm jacket in the evenings.

It may rain 2 days out of 5 or it may not rain at all in November. December is more likely to have some rainy days.

It rarely snows before January, but it can happen. Snow however is rare here, maybe once in 5 years we get a snowfall that is more than just 'snow flurries'.

Depends a lot on where you are from. If you are accustomed to/prefer warm weather then yes, you might prefer the Spring, say end April - early June.

More tips on my Jerusalem pages.
Welcome and have fun.
