Israel Best time to travel to Israel
Posted: Thu June 25, 2009 07:35 PM UTC
My husband and I are looking at a 2 week tour to Israel in late November. Is it very cold in Israel at that time of the year? Can it snow there in late November to early December. Would we be better off waiting till the spring to visit?

Thanks

It is actually perfect time to visit Israel that time of the year weather wise, and it is also after the holidays. I like the Israeli weather in October - November as it is not so hot anymore but still most of the days are sunny and warm. In late November the nights can be cold but no, it is never snowing there that time on the year, only January or February can have few days of snow in the mountains.

Well here you are asking about all of Israel and not just Jerusalem.

The weather in the mountains (Jerusalem, Zfat, Haifa) is always cooler than on the coast or low lying inland areas. November/December in most of Israel is still warm enough to be quite comfortable. Maybe a light sweater in the evenings.

It snows only in the mountains, if at all. Not really likely at that time of year.

Some people, like those from Scandinavia, still go swimming at that time of year. At mid-day it can still be quite warm on the coast.
