I believe the historical small towns (Parati, São João d'El Rey, Tiradentes and
Ouro Preto) shall be minimized. I live in Belo Horizonte/MG very close to them.
They are very small and without any great spots around. By dint of old houses, streets, museum, churches these cities want tourists. Meanwhile artists say
they are superb... There are many painters living there and many precious stone dealers as well.
Waterfalls and sightseeings around Ouro Preto are really better than churches.
In any case I am registering some hints of historical cities:
São João d'El Rey--> Tin pieces, Basilica Nossa Senhora do Pilar, Igreja
São Francisco de Assis, Capela do Bonfim, Balneario
Aguas Santas. Tin pieces may be found at Faeman.
Tiradentes--> Curch "Matriz de Santo Antonio de Padua", atelier, Serra de
São José, Cascata do Mangue, handcrafts and tin pieces.
Ouro Preto--> Handcrafts, Museum, precious stones, soapstone (steatite) pieces,
atelier, and paintings. Ruinas do Arraial do Ouro Podre, Mosteiro
Zen Budista, Cachoeira das Andorinhas, Parque Estadual do Itacolo-
