Sydney Transport from Sydney Airport to Bondi Junction?
Posted: Sun June 21, 2009 10:18 PM UTC
Hi all,

I'm arriving into Sydney airport (travelling from Ireland) next monday early in the morning at about 8am. Whats the best way of getting from the airport to Bondi Junction? Is there a direct train/bus I can get? How much would a taxi cost at around 8am?

Thanks

Deffinatly train/underground. You will be able to get it from the Kingsforth-Smith airport, if memory serves right.
Also if you are staying in Sidney a week or more, I suggest you to buy yourself weekly ticket, as you can use it on buses, trains and ferries.
Trains start running at 5am.
taxi will be extremly expencive. and trains in Sidny are experiance, so why not use them.

If you use the train you will have to travel into the city and change trains at Town Hall station. This shouldn't be a problem if you don't have too much lugguge, no problem at all if you have a back-pack.

I don't use taxis, so not sure of the cost. But 8am on a Monday will be busy - it's peak hour so train is certianly the cheaper option.

As far as I know you catch the train from the international terminal to Wolli Creek which is 1 stop and cost me $14.50 the other day Then at Wolli Creek get off and you buy a ticket from the ticket office at station to Bondi Junction This train will be a direct one as it is on the Illawarra line.
I don't know about any buses never used them and in peak hour a taxi would be expensive but it depends if you are travelling alone or can split the cost with some one and how much luggage you have .

I just went onto the Cityrail website and clicked on fare calculator and it says its 14.81 kilometres from Airport to Bondi Junction and costs $15.20 adult one way fare So maybe you can get a dticket to go all the way but I was charges the two fares as Airport line is privately run Maybe someone else knows

Any way at least you know the trains go where you want Goodluck

I have sent my pickup request on KST.com. It says that they will get back to me in 48 hours. How quickly do they usually take to reply? I leave in 4 days so I really need them to get back to me within the 48 hours as they have said. Do I have to pay online or do they take the cash when I get on the coach? Has anybody used this service before? How does the process work? I got no email confirmation so I cant even check that I entered all my data correctly.

The shuttle bus has a stand outside and close to international arrivals hall.
You can pay the driver. We have used this service a few years ago- this is how it worked then. It MAY have changed now. I am, however, sure that you will hear back from them soon.
