Hi,
We are a family of 4 (2 kids aged 12 and 10) traveling out of San Francisco planning a 10-14 trip of Switzerland, Austria and Hungary. Never been to Hungary before, would appreciate a few tips of what are the best places to visit in Hungary....planning to travel by train. Want to see Budapest. How many days to spend in Hungary? Looking forward to your replies. |

10-14 days for Switzerland AND Austria AND Hungary is pretty rushed!
It's typical American style! :-) Budapest is a world-class beautiful place, but otherwise both Switzerland and Austria has much more to offer than Hungary. If money is no issue spend most of your time in Switzerland,a few days in Austria and 2 days(1 night) in Budapest.

hi,
Hungary is a really good choice! Especially Budapest. Stay here at least 3 days. Your kids will love the spas (there are 14 bath houses),the Palace of Miracles (interactive science center with laser displays, optical puzzles)and the island with free zoopark on. Take a day long side trip north to the Danube bend on boat along the Danube. Have a pleasant stay!
